Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS)
At VDL Translift, we take pride in our commitment to the living and working environment. As part of the VDL Group, we contribute to the sustainable development of society. We achieve this by finding a good balance in economic, ecological, and social areas. CSR is an integral part of our business policy, which means that we incorporate CSR aspects into our decision-making regarding organizational, procedural, and technical matters
Sustainability for people and the environment
VDL Translift conducts an active, ISO-certified environmental policy. For instance, the possible reuse or recycling of the materials used is taken into account both during the development of our products and during production and maintenance work.
At VDL Translift we look one step beyond by also applying sustainability to the end users of our product. VDL Translift side loader systems further the sustainable employability of the drivers of the waste collection vehicles. Since the collection of the waste is done entirely from the cab by means of a joystick, camera systems and several monitors, fewer accidents happen, the work is less physically demanding and no hazardous substances are inhaled, so the drivers are working in a cleaner, safer and ergonomically designed place.
With a view to contributing to a more sustainable world in the future we also participate in projects and applications that relate to alternative fuels, such as solar energy, natural gas and electric-hybrid drives.
OHS
VDL Translift strives for an occupational health and safety policy aimed at maximizing safety, protecting health, and promoting the well-being of all employees during work. The basis for this policy is the Working Conditions Act. The management sees the OHS policy as an integral part of its overall business policy. It aims to integrate the OHS policy into the business policy in such a way that possible HSW aspects (health, safety, well-being) are naturally involved in and recognized and considered in its decision-making regarding organizational, procedural, and technical matters. A good OHS policy cannot be implemented if it is not also supported by those it concerns: the employees. Therefore, the management considers it essential that all employees contribute to the promotion of safety, health, and well-being.
Also in the supply chain
We expect our suppliers to handle substances, materials, and their recycling in a conscious manner, minimize the use of packaging materials without compromising product quality, respect human rights and not employ child labor, take care of the environment, and strive to reduce their CO2 emissions.
