At VDL Translift, we are proud of our commitment to the communities in which we live and work. As part of the VDL Groep, we contribute to the sustainable development of society. We do this by striking a proper balance between economic, environmental and social considerations. Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of our business policy, which means that we take CSR aspects into account when making decisions on organisational, operational and technical matters.
Sustainability for people and the environment
VDL Translift implements an active, ISO-certified environmental policy. During the development, manufacture and maintenance of our products, we consider the possible reuse or recycling of materials. We look beyond our products alone and also focus on sustainability for end users. With our side-loader systems, we provide drivers with a cleaner, safer and ergonomically designed workplace. In addition, we participate in projects and applications involving alternative fuels such as solar energy, natural gas and electric-hybrid powertrains.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
VDL Translift aims to maintain an occupational health and safety policy focused on achieving the highest possible level of safety, the best possible protection of health and the promotion of the wellbeing of all employees during their work. This policy is based on the Dutch Working Conditions Act. Management regards the occupational health and safety policy as an integral part of its overall corporate policy. It aims to integrate the occupational health and safety policy into the corporate policy in such a way that, when making decisions on organisational, procedural and technical matters, any potential occupational health and safety aspects are automatically taken into account, recognised as such and duly considered. No effective occupational health and safety policy can be implemented unless it is also supported by those whom it concerns: the employees. Management therefore considers it essential that all employees contribute to promoting safety, health and wellbeing.
Throughout the supply chain
We expect our suppliers to handle substances and materials, and their recycling, responsibly, minimise the use of packaging materials without compromising product quality, respect human rights and not use child labour, care for the environment and endeavour to reduce their CO2 emissions.
