The IES system (Integrated Environmental System) is a comprehensive logistics system for waste and residual materials. VDL Translift’s IES collection vehicles are designed to collect waste from all standard (mini) containers, bags and underground containers. This body variant with hook-lift system can be divided into three clusters: collection, transfer and transport.
Full skip containers are placed, depending on the type of onward transport, at a collection point, directly onto an ACTS rail wagon or on a trailer. With a capacity of two or three containers per trip, an average of 27 tonnes of waste is transported per trip. By not using the side loader to transport the waste, but exclusively for its collection, this system contributes to an efficient logistics solution, resulting in time savings and cost reductions. Various independent tests have shown that working with skip containers is not only cost-effective, but also significantly less harmful to the environment due to lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The IES transport container is available in 3 sizes. The IES 18, IES 20 and the IES 27 (with lengths of 4, 5 and 6 metres respectively).
