The products developed by VDL Translift offer significant opportunities for a better environment and improved living conditions. However, VDL Translift is taking this a step further by also participating in projects and applications involving alternative fuels, such as solar energy, natural gas and electric-hybrid propulsion.
Both during the development and throughout the manufacturing and maintenance of the products, possible reuse or recycling of the materials used is taken into account. In this way, waste streams are reduced and the consumption of energy and raw materials is optimised. Priority is given to striving for continuous improvement and developing innovative collection and transport equipment, while significantly optimising both working conditions and the environmental impact.
We can describe our environmental objectives as follows:
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Take reuse or recycling of the materials used into account wherever possible
• Purchase materials with a lower environmental impact
• Reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions during production and throughout the remainder of the life cycle
• Carefully separate hazardous waste and industrial waste
• Integrate environmental policy into the design procedure, ensuring that the environment is treated sustainably
• Strive for continuous improvement
• Document measures relating to environmental policy in the environmental manual.
The objectives set out in this environmental policy have been given concrete form in the processes and working methods used within VDL Translift and meet at least the requirements of the applicable NEN-EN-ISO standard. To ensure this, VDL Translift is ISO 14001 certified.

VDL Translift’s CO2 emissions in Dronten have been included as a KPI in our main objectives, with the target being tightened slightly each year. As a result, CO2 emissions have decreased significantly every year since 2019.
VDL Translift ensures that developments in environmental legislation and regulations, points for attention and environmental issues relevant to the organisation are monitored, evaluated and appropriately incorporated into the environmental management system. All our employees are therefore expected to contribute to the implementation of this environmental policy and, in order to achieve this objective, ensure effective communication in this area.
